Job Title: Financial AssistantSummary:
The Poetry Foundation is accepting applications for a part-time position to assist the Chief Financial Officer with bookkeeping, accounts payable, and tax preparation. The position will require approximately 20-24 hours per week. While the position does offer some scheduling flexibility, the candidate must be available to work 9am to 5pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Financial Assistant will work closely with the CFO and Office Administrator in a variety of capacities to support Foundation financial administration. Responsibilities include preparation of accounts payable and accounts receivable, Quickbooks reporting, journal entry creation, preparation of tax schedules, preparation of monthly budget reporting for senior management, and other tasks as assigned by the CFO.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks and Excel, including pivot tables
- 1-2 years related professional experience
- Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Ability to accurately handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Takes initiative to learn about new tax and financial reporting requirements
- Candidates with tax preparation and budgeting experience are particularly encouraged to apply
This position offers a competitive hourly rate based on experience.
