BOOK ARTS

Laughlin
New Directions founder James Laughlin published the brightest lights of the last century's avant-garde — everyone from Pound and Borges to William Carlos Williams and Nabokov. In the November 2007 issue of Poetry, David Biespel offered an assessment of The Way It Wasn't: From the Files of James Laughlin. Images from the book are presented with Biespel's commentary.
