(“I asked of Destiny...”)

by Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore
                                                      XI

I asked of Destiny, “Tell me who with relentless hand pushes me on?”
Destiny told me to look behind.
I turned and saw my own self behind pushing forward the self in front.
