Poets in Conversation
The International Poets In Conversation (IPC) consortium helps universities, poetry centers, and other organizations to collectively bring poets from abroad to the United States for American speaking tours. As the lead member of the consortium, the Harriet Monroe Poetry Institute contributes the cost of the overseas airfare, while members of the consortium cover their own local costs to feature the poet in a public presentation at their venue.
Our hope is that the collaborative effort to bring poets from abroad will take root and increase international conversation about poetry and poetics. If your organization is interested in participating in this consortium, please contact Beth Allen.
To bring the presentations to a wider audience, we plan to record the conversations that take place in Chicago at the Poetry Foundation and publish them as part of the Poetry Lecture podcast series. You may download the series or follow the links below to conversations with:
