Poetry manuscripts sought for Verse Drama Prize and Emily Dickinson Award

2007 Verse Drama Prize
The Verse Drama Prize honors a living poet over the age of 18 who has written an outstanding original verse drama in English. The work must be unpublished and must not yet have been produced for an audience. The winner receives $10,000 as well as a public staged reading of the manuscript in Chicago. The production will take place in 2008. Submissions for the Verse Drama Prize will be accepted between April 1 and June 15, 2007.
2007 Emily Dickinson First Book Award
The Emily Dickinson First Book Award recognizes an American poet of at least 50 years of age who has yet to publish a first collection of poetry. In addition to publication and promotion of the manuscript, the winner receives a prize of $10,000. Submissions will be accepted between May 15 and June 15, 2007.
