“You’ll probably hate some of these poems.”

An intern suggests to David Eggers that he publish poetry. Eggers says OK how? Enter The Poetry Chains of Dominic Luxford, section one in McSweeney’s three-volume Issue 22. Here’s how it works:

Ten poets/poems are chosen. Each poet then chooses another poem of their own and then a poem by someone else, and so forth and so on for a total of five poets. The result? One hundred poems chosen on their own.

Well, it makes for an interesting anthology, though somewhat gimmicky seeing the poets edited the anthology themselves, essentially. Not sure what the point is. I am sure there are some good poems in it.
