Aurora is one of the most amazing persons I have met. I am moved by her poetry and admire greatly her literary scholarship. It was a real priviledge to know and love such a generous, brilliant woman.

I had the pleasure to know Aurora during my college years, through her niece Tani. Talking with her was always an extraordinary experience, not just for the quality of her thought and expression, but for the respect she always showed to a young student.
Strange that in all these years, I never read her poems until now… and in English!

Thanks a lot from Spain, Rigo! Aurora’s poems needed our attention since so many years…
It’s important for all of us to remember what happened to Spanish people during those years, and the voice of Aurora de Albornoz is a valuable key to get it. Literary History must pay attention.

Another important contribution of hers, if you read Spanish, is the anthology, Sensemayá: la poesía negra en el mundo hispanohablante, co-edited with Julio Rodríguez-Luis.
