<description>Thank you for this post, Major. I have been looking forward to Prageeta Sharma&#039;s book for months now, after I heard it was going to be out. Certainly a reason to celebrate. And thanks for the other recs--I have put them on my &quot;to have&quot; list for the season. Take it easy.

<description>Khalil, I&#039;ll be your archenemy but would rather be your friend.

		<description>Hi,
I think you have the most enviable life. I can only assume that your description of book parties comes from autobioghical experience. I wish was important enough to have an archenemy let alone one who coveted my success they showed up at my big party and gave me evil looks. I want someone to flash me nasty looks and begrudge me my accomplishments. Can I borrow your guest list if I ever write something worthy enough for celebration?

<description>Maybe because my first poetry collection came out shortly after I had moved to Greece, and the second shortly after I had a baby, I have never really had a book launch party. But I am determined to throw an Epicurean affair for the Lucretius translation, and will be doing so later this month. (If anyone is planning to be in Athens--not, I guess, driving distance from NYC--it will be January 28 at the British School of Archeaology... please come!) So I am keen to hear this definitive list of do&#039;s and don&#039;t&#039;s, before it is too late!
