		<description>Mark,
An interesting study, certainly a worthwhile project. Perera points out that the conflicts of that area have co-opted working-class history in favor of political structures, to negative effect, but I am skeptical of a distinction between political structures, socio-economics, and personal identity – are they not all expressions of the same historical situation? Perhaps I misunderstand her view?

<description>Thanks for bringing Sonali Perera&#039;s essay to my attention. It would indeed be refreshing to see some dialog on these matters on the site. It would also be refreshing to hear from some women.

<description>What a barbarian you are, Mark! To suggest that poetry should address the realties of life under Twilight Capitalism, when we all know that it really should be about wordplay and Wittgenstein and the cigar-smoke coiling up from the cubicle where Barthes and Derrida play solitaire side by side. As for those struggling workers, let them eat puns!
