		<description>It has been 10 years and two kids since I have been to Santa Cruz. I recall the &quot;Rockin&#039; Tacos&quot;  stand my husband pointed out repeatedly as we passed it  &quot;over and over&quot; since I was lost driving. He grew up near Santa Cruz and had hung out at the Taco establishment.
Different world there, your essay brought me back. I recall a coffee shop / bakery with excellent scones, a restaurant without a license and a crater where a building once stood, lost to an earthquake.  And one shoplifter.
