I also heard PMP at the Where the Wind Shifts reading at Moe’s. How dare he subvert the ethnic and gender stereotypes we all depend on! If you don’t know what a maquiladora is you ought to try workin in on. Beats teaching creative writing any day.

Thanks Tara, yeah I didn’t “translate” the title because I thought I was already “giving away” too much! Hopefully people readers will be interested in finding out what a maquilodora is.

Also, I had to look up this thing about Tim Hardaway. I though it was because he’s little, in comparison to the other NBA players Pompa mentions: Zo, Manute Bol, Shaq, and what that means in terms of masculinity and the showers!

i sat next to paul at a Wind Shifts pre-dinner reading. don’t tell him this, but after he left the table to head to the reading, i stole his fork! i decided the best way to worship paul’s fork was to use it every day, for every meal. and, of course, i’ve never washed it. which is to say, i love paul’s work too!
