I guess Incognito is right. Tomas seems pretty clear compared to some of the others. Heck, I don't know what I'd say in response to the question, and I guess I was just projecting my own anxiety onto him.

Un paisaje... un puesto de sol... and all the time, Tomas's elotes (ears of corn) are gently toasting (perhaps by Central Park, not far from the Zoo)... ¡Que vivan las canciones románticas!

I didn't see this gentleman struggle at all. He seemed very clear, and eloquent.

Poetry

I never read poetry; can't stand the stuff
and who could blame me?
The bad ones make me gnash my teeth
and the good ones only shame me.

It is a difficult question, but the answers so far are all pretty easy. I would love to see someone really rise to the challenge of the question. Or, honestly, I would love to see someone just say, "What is poetry? It's bullshit."

This question, what is poetry, is so difficult to answer. You can see people struggle with it in front of the camera. It makes me uncomfortable sometimes to witness it. But in my opinion, people wind up making up a kind of live poetry as they struggle to answer.

Yes again, Melissa Friedling. I can go with this vendor's definition. Poetry is an elegant way of expressing deep thoughts. It works for me.
