Sorry Vlad....your smile says it all...When thoughts precipitate into words that allow us to communicate, we are all happy. When the same words work together like polished stones in a gurgling stream, produce music as well as insight in the stream of your consciousness, then even your smile, Vlad, would be broader. Go on...admit it, - if only for the mischevious kid still trapped inside.

I say bullshit on Vladimir. I say he has lost a capacity for love, which is an occupational hazard dogging all old people, old men especially. I know of one old man who proves Vladimir wrong. Goethe.

It's funny. Poetry does still seem to be, no matter how "contemporary," an out-of-time art. So it does seem like a game for the young because there are so many out-of-time moments when we're young (boredom?). That said, it's a shame this guy feels so caught up he can't step away. Getting and spending and all of that. I guess that's one definition of conservative.

It may be honest, but I wonder if it's true. Is poetry a game for the young? That's what this guy seems to be saying . . . too many responsibilities for poetry. I guess it may be true, but it's sad.

"I don't have time for poetry." This guy is great. This is the first time I've felt like somebody answered honestly. Bravo!
