R.I.P. Valerie Eliot

T.S. Eliot’s widow, Valerie, passed away on Friday at 86.

From the Daily Mail:

Valerie Eliot, the widow of T.S. Eliot and zealous guardian of the poet’s literary legacy for almost half a century, has died. She was 86.

The Eliot estate released a statement saying that Valerie Eliot died Friday at her London home after a brief illness.

Mr Eliot, who was 40 years older than his wife, died in 1965 at the age of 77.
