RIP Russell Edson

Today we were saddened to learn of the death of Russell Edson, master of the prose poem. Ken Dixon at the CTPost reports:

Stamford Hospital officials have confirmed that Russell Edson, a noted poet and illustrator who was a long-time resident of Stamford and Darien, has died after a long illness. He was born in 1935, attended the famous Black Mountain College and was a Guggenheim fellow.He died on April 29.

We hope to see tributes in remembrances forthcoming from the myriad poets who were influenced by Edson’s remarkable and vital writing.
