All experience levels are welcome to a monthly book group moderated by library staff. In 2013, the library will ask individuals from varied backgrounds to select a title that has been meaningful to them. Space is limited to 15 participants. Please register in advance by emailing library@poetryfoundation.org.

March’s curator, Salvador Vergara, selected Jose Emilio Pacheco’s City of Memory for the following reasons:

“I like his clear, clean style–brief and profound. His observation of nature, of the passage of time, of the quotidian and his ability to find beauty in the day to day and in the ephemeral…”
 
Salvador Vergara has been the Librarian at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago since 2003.  He loves literature and is lucky enough to be surrounded by books.
