Poetry Out Loud winners from Chicagoland schools recite classic and contemporary poetry. The Poetry Out Loud Recitation Contest is a partnership among the Poetry Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and state arts agencies. The national contest encourages high school students to explore poetry through performance. This year, 375,000 students competed for $100,000 in prizes. Poetry Foundation program director Stephen Young hosts.
