Mark your calendars! UDP Art Auction and Party on May 24

By Harriet Staff

If you didn't win the Elizabeth Zechel painting or Ish Klein's fuzzy sculptural animals at the Lungfull auction (darnit), you have another chance to try your bidding hand at this year's aptly titled Ugly Duckling Presse Art Auction and Party.

The UDP Art Auction and Party, co-sponsored by The Brooklyn Rail, will raise much-needed monies for the tireless presse. With performances by Elevator Repair Service with Ben Rubin & Mark Hansen, plus music by The Snow. And raffle prizes too, from the likes of Archipelago Books, Artforum, BOMB magazine, Bulldog Gin, Cabinet, Fence Books, n+1 / Paper Monument, NYRB Classics, Parkett, A Public Space, and Wave Books. All happening next Tuesday, May 24, from 6-9 PM. Whereabouts? Why, the RH Gallery. 137 Duane Street, Tribeca, NYC. $20 for advance tickets and $25 at the door.

Artworks from the auction include pieces by Alex Katz (for the Wooster Group), Amy Sillman, Joan Nelson, Paul Chan, and Erica Baum, among a zillion others. Preview the art here and if out of town, you'll be able to send a proxy bid.
