By Harriet Staff

Two events to report from Wave Books. First, their Annual Poetry Festival:

Wave’s Annual Poetry Festival 2011: Poetry in Translation

Wave Books presents THREE DAYS OF POETRY IN TRANSLATION, November 4th through 6th, in association with the Henry Art Gallery at the University of Washington, featuring readings in the James Turrell Skyspace, film screenings, art exhibitions, lectures, and discussions. Each day, choose from fifteen hour-long talks and readings on the half hour, with local and national poets, translators, and editors. Nightly events will include parties and readings with featured poets and translators.

Check back closer to the festival for a finalized schedule and more details on evening events. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact wavepoetryweekend@gmail.com.

Secondly, their Summer Reading Project:

ANNOUNCING the WAVE BOOKS SUMMER READING PROJECT: Summer reading doesn’t have to be bodice-rippers & YA vampire novels. Send us your snapshots of people reading poetry & we’ll post our favorites all summer long. If your photo is posted, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a 2011 Wave Books hardcover subscription – a $275 value! – to be given away Labor Day weekend. Send your photos to: poetrysummer@gmail.com.

Check the photos as they roll in here.
