A Look at the New French Journal Recours au Poème: Poésies & Mondes poétiques

By Harriet Staff

If you're interested in contemporary French poetry, you'd do well to check out Recours au Poème: Poésies & Mondes poétiques, edited by Matthieu Baumier.

Though the online journal just launched this year, they move at a nice clip and are already at Issue 7, which includes poems in English by Noelle Kocot and Arundhathi Subramaniam, some in German from Alexander Gumz; and essays in French ("Pourquoi nous aimons la poésie de Hart Crane," "Ouverture vers la poésie de Taiwan") and English, including one on translation. There are also several reviews of current books in French, and interviews, including one with U.S. poet Iris Cushing. Looks like a great resource.
