Out, Out: Arlo Quint’s Death to Explosions
We don’t usually book-announce, but this is one to know: The gorgeous UK-based Skysill Press has just announced the long-awaited first full-length from New York poet Arlo Quint, whose poems, as John Ashbery blurbs here, “have the remote, enraptured quality of the lines that Orpheus copies down from his car radio in the Cocteau film, Orphée.” And that cover by painter Jonathan Allen is blurb enough, so mesmerizing. Order Death to Explosions here. Other forthcoming titles from Skysill include works by Christopher Rizzo, Aaron Tieger, Theodore Enslin, and others.
Another great read from Quint is this collaborative chapbook from Well Greased Press, Check Out My Lifestyle, written with artist and writer Charles Wolski. Dan Magers wrote of Quint’s Photogenic Memory (Lame House Press 2007) for Sink Review. And Ron Silliman linked to Quint’s 2010 reading in Cincinnati here.
