Next week, the Institute of American Indian Arts is kicking off a writing festival and a fund-raising reading featuring Sherman Alexie. Details are:

Join us July 28 – August 3 for the inaugural IAIA Writers Festival, a week full of award-winning writing as visiting faculty members of the Institute’s new MFA Creative Writing program read their works.

Many of the readings are free and open to the public. All readings, except the Thursday, August 1 program with Joseph Boyden, will take place at the IAIA campus, 83 Avan Nu Po Road just outside Santa Fe.

The August 2 reading with Sherman Alexie is a fundraiser benefiting the MFA scholarship program. Tickets are $50.
