Song Cave is on KCRW’s Bookworm this Thursday

By Harriet Staff

Tune thy podcast headsets to KCRW’s Bookworm—or tune in with thy radio if in Los Angeles (89.9 FM!)—for a special appearance by Alan Felsenthal and Ben Estes (editors of Song Cave) and Amanda Nadelberg (advisor to Song Cave).

Felsenthal, Estes, and Nadelberg join Michael Silverblatt (Bookworm’s host) for a conversation about Alfred Starr Hamilton’s poetry and about Song Cave’s recent publication of A Dark Dreambox of Another Kind: The Poems of Alfred Starr Hamilton, as well as a read-aloud of a few favorite poems from the collection.

The show will air this Thursday at 2:30-3:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time) and will be available as a podcast shortly thereafter. From KCRW’s website:

Alfred Starr Hamilton (1914-2005) lived most of his life in obscurity and conceived a peculiar poetry at once somber, celestial, and lucent. The Song Cave press has just rediscovered Hamilton’s eclipsed oeuvre, and published a new selection of his work, A Dark Dreambox of Another Kind. Song Cave editorial duo Ben Estes and Alan Felsenthal and poet Amanda Nadelberg read poems from Dreambox and reflect on their experience editing this unsung enchanter who only wanted to “tell the story of our stars.”

Can’t wait to listen in!
