Idra Novey is a novelist, poet, and translator. Her collections include Soon and Wholly (Wesleyan University Press, 2024), Take What You Need (Viking, 2023), Ways to Disappear (Little, Brown and Company, 2016), and Exit, Civilian (University of Georgia Press, 2012). Her co-translation with Ahmad Nadalizadeh of Iranian poet Garous Abdolmalekian, Lean Against This Late Hour (Penguin Books, 2020), was a finalist for the 2021 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. Her fiction and poetry have been translated into a dozen languages and she has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The Guardian. In 2022, she won a Pushcart Prize for her story “The Glacier,” published in The Yale Review. She teaches fiction writing at Princeton University.
