Roger Fanning
Born in Millington, Tennessee, Roger Fanning earned a MFA from the Warren Wilson Program for Writers. He is the author of The Island Itself (1991), a National Poetry Series Award winner chosen by Michael Ryan; Homesick (2002); and The Middle Ages (2012). Poet Mary Karr noted that Fanning’s work “tunes us in to those miniscule instants of revelation.”
A Whiting Writers’ Award winner, Fanning has taught at Syracuse University. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
