khóc âm thầm (v) to cry or weep almost silently, (fig) in secret.

    This is such a provocative list, or make that a conjugation. Are the phrases considered verb plus adverb(s), or are they considered compound verbs? Are there equivalents for laughing or being angry?

    khóc đứng khóc ngồi–cry stand cry sit.
    khóc hết hơi–cry out breath.
    khóc sưng mắt–cry swell eye.
    khóc theo–cry follow.
    There are also many laughing verbs in Vietnamese. I’ll post those next…
