Choose Your Own Tenure

There are many unfortunate divisions in the world of arts and academia, but two of the most unfortunate are the division between the arts and sciences, and that between creative and academic writing. James Siddle and Maise Platts, two computer scientists, have gracefully stepped over the gap between "scholarly" work and creativity by writing an academic paper on computer science in the form of a Choose Your Own Adventure story. (!) Sure, we have no idea what's being argued in this paper, because Harriet doesn't know anything about computer science, but the form alone is enough to excite—what if more academic papers took on playful and artful styles?
