As previously reported, singer/songwriter Tom Waits self-released a poetry chapbook, Seeds on Hard Ground, and is donating all proceeds to charitable organization that provide homeless services. Well, according to MediaBistro, sales of the chapbook have already raised $90,000 for the cause, and it’s going into a second printing. From Waits’ blog:

Thank you to all of you who purchased a copy of the Tom Waits ‘Seeds on Hard Ground’ chapbook. Your purchase contributed to the nearly $90,000 raised for the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Sonoma County’s Homeless Referral Services, and Family Support Center. These funds will help provide vital services for people in need during these difficult times.
