We hear from Poets & Writers, who heard from The Bay Citizen, that Oakland writers are leading the charge in denouncing the city's recent actions against protesters involved in Occupying. Specifically: "A group of over fifty mostly Bay Area authors have signed a statement decrying the city of Oakland’s “crackdown” on demonstrators who marched on Tuesday to protest the city’s eviction of the Occupy Oakland encampment in Frank Ogawa Plaza." Those signed include Dave Eggers, Matthew Zapruder, Michelle Tea, Rebecca Solnit, Michael Pollan, and others. To read the full letter to Mayor Jean Quan, just head here.
