Poet and activist Faranak Farid held in Iran

The Writers in Prison Committee of PEN International is gathering petition signatures in support of Iranian poet, journalist, and activist Faranak Farid. Farid was reportedly beaten and arrested after a September 3rd environmental protest in the northwestern city of Tabriz. She's believed to be facing charges of "insulting the Supreme Leader," "propaganda against the system," and "acting against national security."
