John Cooper Clarke Documentary
JCC's coming to a TV screen near you, according to the BBC:
Essex based punk poet John Cooper Clarke is to have a documentary film about his life and work aired on the BBC at the end of the month.
Evidently... John Cooper Clarke will be shown on BBC4 on Wednesday, May 30 at 10pm then repeated on BBC HD at 11.30pm later that evening and show again on May 31 at 3.15am on BBC4.
The documentary looks at the career of the influential Salford lad who rose to prominence during the punk years for the mordant wit and biting social commentary of his poems.
Cooper Clarke appeared live with The Sex Pistols, Siouxie and the Banshees, The Fall and Joy Division in the late 1970s then returned to performance in the 1990s where he found a new following for his distinctive brand of poetry.
