After a Flood: Silliman Needs Your Help to Recover Damaged Books

By Harriet Staff

Speaking of Silliman! The poet wrote on his blog yesterday that “over 140 books and journals [have been] water damaged beyond salvation” after a “pipe in the furnace room that adjoins [his] basement study burst, sending water shooting into the room that houses the majority of [his] ten thousand books.” Ten thousand! Goodness. Silliman goes on to list some of the damaged books in hopes of replacement–though it’s true many are out of print (if you find a copy of Dana Ward’s The Squeakquel 1 or 2, you’re a lucky man!). Here’s just the beginning of the list; report to Silliman if you are an author and publisher who can help.
