The Poetry Foundation will once again take part in the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Open House Chicago, a free public event that offers behind-the-scenes access to more than 150 buildings across the city and suburbs. Visitors to the building will have an opportunity to explore the building and learn about its design.
On Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 AM architect John Ronan will talk about his AIA award-winning design for the Poetry Foundation, which was opened to the public in summer 2011. Afterward Carl Giegold of Threshold Acoustics will briefly discuss the Poetry Foundation's unique performance space, which was acoustically designed to optimize the sound of the human voice. This program is expected to last about 30 minutes and will be followed by Q & A.
