Ginsberg’s Last Days
Abuzzed by Howl, it seems like everyone is (rightly) re-abuzz about Allen Ginsberg. So it might be a good time to watch or re-watch Jonas Mekas’s haunting and intimate Scenes from Allen’s Last Three Days on Earth as a Spirit, which is exactly what the title says it is: a hour-long film with footage of the poet’s final hours. How’s Ginsberg’s performance? Well, he’s good, but he’s no James Franco!
