National Poetry Month Special: Download Our April 2018 Issue for Free

By The Editors

In celebration of National Poetry Month, we’re happy to offer you, dear readers, a free download of the April 2018 issue of Poetry magazine. You can find the free issue in our app, available through iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon. There is a PDF version available too.

The April 2018 issue features three special portfolios: Split This Rock, a gathering of those committed to social justice; Black Girl Magic, an excerpt from the book of the same name out this month from Haymarket Books, edited by Mahogany L. Browne, Idrissa Simmonds, and Jamila Woods; and Snow City Arts, an organization that provides instruction in the visual arts, creative writing, music, theater, and media arts to children in hospitals. Read through the whole issue for new poems by Sonia Sanchez, Sharon Olds, Camille T. Dungy, Javier Zamora, Sherwin Bitsui, Aracelis Girmay, Bianca Lynne Spriggs, Eboni Hogan, and many others.

In the digital edition you can listen to this month’s Poetry magazine podcast, hosted by the editors, with readings from Paul Tran, Elizabeth Acevedo, Solmaz Sharif, and Ilya Kaminsky. You will also get a notification when digital extras are added to the issue later this month: a curated playlist for the issue, a guest blog post from Paul Tran, and our latest Reading List.

There is nothing like seeing the latest issue of Poetry in your mailbox or at your local bookstore, but we hope you’ll love seeing the magazine in this accessible digital format too. It allows you to read Poetry wherever you go, even offline, and it offers new ways of discovering, saving, and sharing the poems you love. If you have any comments or questions, please email us at editors@poetrymagazine.org.

Once you download the app, be sure to check back each month. Each issue will have select content available for free in the app and each individual issue will be available for purchase. Poetry subscribers can access the full digital issues and extras for free in the app every month as part of our print/digital bundle—just enter your email address when prompted to log in. Not a subscriber? Sign up now with our special National Poetry Month offer: only $20 for 11 issues ($32 for international subscribers).

Happy reading!
