Kristen Tracy

Poet Details

Poet, novelist, and young adult writer Kristen Tracy grew up in a small Mormon town in Idaho. She earned a BA at Loyola Marymount University, where she began writing poetry and later pursued graduate studes in English.

Tracy’s poetry has been featured in Ted Kooser’s program, American Life in Poetry. In 2009, she was named the poetry fellow for the Writers@Work Conference. Her novels for young adults include Lost It (2007), Crimes of the Sarahs (2008), and A Field Guide for Heartbreakers (2010). Her novel for adults, Sharks and Boys, was published in 2011.

Tracy has taught literature and writing at various universities, including Brigham Young University and Western Michigan University. She currently teaches at Write Teen and lives in San Francisco.
