Will poets solve the India/Pakistan rift?

As part of reviving traditional Mushairas in the UAE, in hopes they will help promote understanding between the two countries, the organizers have incorporated readings by prominent poets from both countries, as stated by stated by Jamil Ahmed Khan, Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE, in an article from the Khaleej Times:

“The two countries are making positive progress in their bilateral relations. We must, at all levels, continue our efforts till we reach our goal.

Poets are ambassadors of peace. Their message of peace and love for the new generation can lead to prosperity in the region.”
