Oh wow! We told you it was benefit season (and if you missed Springing, the Poetry Project event, here's a writeup of Thurston Moore and John Zorn's performance). And more on the way! We'd highly suggest SPD's annual fundraiser, BEE IN 2012, which will take place May 14 in San Francisco. Yes, it truly is a spelling bee! And a silent auction! Oh, to live in the Bay. More from SPD:

THE BEE-IN is an old-fashioned spelling bee but with alcohol, tasty nibbles, and more fun! Thank you to Crown Point Gallery for providing the beautiful setting for this event. Proceeds support the work of SPD, the nation's only remaining non-profit distributor of literary small press books.

Food & Drinks kindly provided by ThirstyBear, Kermit Lynch & St. George Spirits.

6:30: Drinks, Delectables & Auction
