At the end of a long day of blogging, the Harriet Staff likes to kick back with a few ice cold craft brews. Since we're in Chicago, there's no shortage breweries to hit the spot, from a refreshing French country ale, to well balance pale ale, to a face-melting wicked Imperial IPA. But when we need to venture away from our local options, where do we turn to but none other than our favorite beer guide: Gertrude Stein? Yep, head to The Rumpus to check out these insightful reviews of some of the craftiest of craft brews (except the Bud Light Lime, bien sûr). Here's a taste:

Pensacola Brewery L’il Napoleon IPA (6.70% ABV): If I told him would he like it. Would he like it if I told him. Would he like it would Napoleon would Napoleon would would he like it. Would the caramel, would the top notes, would they like it, would Napoleon. Would the hoppy caramel top notes smooth Napoleon, would they finish. If I drank it, would Napoleon, would he drink it if I liked him. Would Napoleon, would the top notes, would the caramel if I told him.

Flying Fish Big Fish Barleywine (10.00% ABV): Potent is as potent does as simple but yet nothing simple can be. Drinkers, there is no position for us to assume. Let me recite what alcohol warms, alcohol warms. The difference is spreading. A flavor, a single flavor is doubtful. A CARAFE, THAT IS A BLIND GLASS. Out of doubt comes flavor, comes redness, comes color, comes a question of the lingering finish. High alpha oil hoops, hoops oil alpha high. Quaffable indeed.

Miller High Life (0.60% ABV): The champagne of beers.
