Swallows
Translated By Kristian Josifoski
Translated from the Macedonian
The swallows screech at dawn
Birds which day from night divide
We are quick shuttles
Weaving the blurred thread of mystery
Dusk is our element
Brushing the edge of a moment
You’ve seen us
Hemming air to water
But the heavens keep not a trace of our work—
So cry the swallows.
