Eddie Linden
Eddie Linden was a Scots-Irish poet and the magazine editor of Aquarius, a literary magazine he founded in London in 1969. Linden’s notable works include City of Razors and Other Poems (J. Landesman, 1980) and the autobiographical Who is Eddie Linden (J. Landesman Limited, 1979), coauthored with Sebastian Barker. Later adapted for the stage by William Tanner, Who is Eddie Linden reflects on Linden’s Catholic upbringing in a Lanarkshire mining village and his political engagements with the CND movement, YCL, and the Communist Party. The play premiered at the Old Red Lion Theatre in London in 1997.
Linden’s work is included in anthologies such as The Best of Scottish Poetry (Chambers, 1989) and The Poolbeg Book of Irish Poetry for Children (Poolbeg, 1997). He shared his poetry through readings on BBC One, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, Radio Clyde, and LBC Radio, and he performed live across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the United States.
