Gerald Dawe (he/him) was an Irish poet and writer born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1952. He published 10 collections of poetry with The Gallery Press, including Another Time: Poems 1978–2023 (2023), The Last Peacock (2019), and Heart of Hearts (1995). Dawe also published many volumes of essays, including In Another World: Van Morrison & Belfast (Merrion Press, 2020), and edited numerous anthologies of poetry and literary criticism. He was professor of English and a fellow at Trinity College in Dublin until his retirement in 2017. He was also the founding director of the Trinity Oscar Wilde Centre. An archive of Dawe’s papers is held at the Burns Library, at Boston College. He died in 2024.
