I. S. Jones

I.S. Jones is the author of Bloodmercy (Copper Canyon Press, 2025), which was named one of the best poetry books of 2025 by The New York Times, and the chapbook Spells of My Name (Newfound, 2021). Jones has received support from Hedgebrook, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Callaloo, Brooklyn Poets, and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Jones is a senior editor for Poetry Northwest and an instructor with Brooklyn Poets. She founded and cohosts Canto-Kòjo, a monthly open mic and reading series at Call & Response Books in the Southside of Chicago.
