Lily Shehady is a poet, translator, and educator. Her work focuses on identity, culture, and belonging, and has been published in Tupelo Quarterly, The Basilisk Tree, and Zócalo Public Square, among others. She earned an MFA in creative writing from Bar-Ilan University and has taught English at a Waldorf elementary school for the past seven years. Shehady lives within the fractures of the identity she was born into: a Christian born and raised in Nazareth, a Palestinian Arab, and a citizen of Israel.
