Linda Ashman
http://www.lindaashman.com/Children’s book author Linda Ashman was born in Schenectady, New York. She came to poetry only after earning a BA in economics from Rutgers University, an MA in urban planning from the University of California-Los Angeles, and working as a real estate market analyst.
Since 2001, Ashman has written numerous rhyming picture books, among them Castles, Caves & Honeycombs (2001); Can You Make a Piggy Giggle? (2002), which received a Children’s Choice Award from the Children’s Book Council; When I Was King (2008); Babies on the Go (2003); Just Another Morning (2004); and Samantha on a Roll (2011), a New York Times Notable Children’s Book for 2011. She is also the author of M is for Mischief (2008), a book of alphabet poems; Stella Unleashed: Notes from the Doghouse (2008), poems from a dog’s point of view; and Come to the Castle! A Visit to a Castle in Thirteenth Century England (2009), a collection of poems in the voices of various castle denizens. Her subjects include family bonds, ecology, and animals.
Ashman lives in Denver, Colorado.
