Lisa Suhair Majaj

Lisa Suhair Majaj is a Palestinian American poet, essayist, and educator. She is the author of Geographies of Light (Web del Sol Association, 2009), winner of the 2008 Del Sol Press Poetry Prize. Her writing has been featured in publications and exhibitions such as the 2016 photography exhibition Aftermath: The Fallout of War—America & the Middle East at the Harn Museum of Art, University of Florida. 

As a coeditor, Lisa Suhair Majaj has contributed to three collections of essays focusing on international women writers: Etel Adnan: Critical Essays on the Arab-American Writer and Artist (McFarland, 2002), Intersections: Gender, Nation, and Community in Arab Women’s Novels (Syracuse University Press, 2002), and Going Global: The Transnational Reception of Third World Women Writers (Taylor & Francis, 2000). 

With a PhD in Arab American literature, Majaj has shared her expertise through teaching at various institutions. Majaj resides in Nicosia, Cyprus.
