Y.
By Luis Muñoz
Translated By Idra Novey & Garth Greenwell
Translated from the Spanish
Not one thing or the other.
Not equal nor different.
Given that he had spent
the night
removing the dots
over his i’s
and was swimming
in a sea so choppy
and slippery,
made solely of those dots—
they were elated
to collide—
he was relieved to opt out
of being something certain.
