Julia Bloch grew up in both northern California and Sydney, Australia. She earned a BA from Carleton College, an MA from Mills College, and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of the poetry collection Letters to Kelly Clarkson (2012), and her poems and criticism have appeared in journals such as Aufgabe, How2, Sidebrow, and Women’s Studies Quarterly, among others. An editor of Jacket2, Bloch is an assistant professor in the Bard College MAT program and lives in southern California.
