Lauren K. Watel's debut collection, Book of Potions (Sarabande Books, 2025), won the Kathryn A Morton Prize in Poetry from Sarabande Books. Her potions, poetry, fiction, essays and translations have appeared widely. She earned an MA in English from Hollins College and a PhD in Women's Studies from Emory University. A native of Dallas, Texas, she lives in Decatur, Georgia.
