Wendy Mnookin (she/her) grew up in and around New York City. Mnookin is the author of the poetry collections Dinner with Emerson (Tiger Bark Press, 2016), The Moon Makes Its Own Plea (BOA Editions, 2008), What He Took (BOA Editions, 2002), To Get Here (BOA Editions, 1999), and Guenever Speaks (Round Table, 1991). She has received support through a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and her books have won awards from the New England Poetry Club and the Massachusetts Center for the Book.

Mnookin attended Radcliffe College and earned an MFA in writing from Vermont College. She has lived most of her adult life in Newton, Massachusetts. She has taught poetry in a variety of venues, including Emerson College, Boston College, and Grub Street, a nonprofit writing program in Boston. She now heads up the Poetry Roundtable at the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement.
